Administrative HistoryBorn in 1883, Alexander Stewart Ferguson was educated at Emanuel School, London, St. Andrews University and University College, Oxford. He was an excellent scholar and began his lecturing career in Canada where he lectured in philosophy from 1909 to 1923. He was then at Durham from 1924 to 1926, when he was appointed Regius Professor of Logic at Aberdeen University. In 1953 he became Emeritus Professor of Logic. He died in Old Aberdeen in 1958.
