DescriptionCollection of letters by, or relating to, members of the Forbes family including: three letters from Nathaniel and Anne Forbes to Jonathan Michie, August 1787 and December 1795; letter from Alex Grant to Reverend George Forbes regarding the sale of a property, 1792; letter from Major General Sir Henry Taylor to Major General Sir Thomas Bradford regarding delay of Lord Forbes joining his regiment, 1824; letter from 17th Baron Forbes to General Frederick Maitland accepting invitation to become a member of a standing committee for the building of a monument to the Duke of York, 1827; letter from Sir Charles Forbes declining invitation from the Sheriffs Elect to attend an inauguration dinner, 1827; letter from Mrs. Jane Stuart to Maurice Lothian concerning the renewal of the tack on her farm with copy of original letter of tack and related correspondence, 1839; letter from 21st Baron Forbes to Mr. Osborne supplying information regarding the 14th Baron Forbes, 1930.
