Administrative HistoryRobert Murdoch Lawrance was a cashier at Wyllie and Son, publishers. He carried out a great deal of research into various family histories and also into local history and philology. Many of his papers were given to the University Library. He was editor of Aberdeen Book Lover.
SourceThe papers were donated to the University by R. Murdoch Lawrance. A typed note in the deposit file reads: 'Found in Dr. Simpson's room 1966 in envelope marked as probably from Mr. Lawrance's collection. Catalogued 11/11/66.'
