| Description | Narrow folio, quarter calf with marbled boards, containing library catalogue headed "Catalogue of books Dec. 1st 1856" with a note "sent to Edin[burg]h". The catalogue occupies 16 pages, rectos only, and is organised by book cases. The books listed are 16th to 18th century, largely editions of classic authors. On the inside front cover there is a list of "Splendid Copies With Pictures" (17th and h18th century English publications, and a short list on the verso of the first page.
