Description | Extract by William Sharp, sheriff clerk of Banff, of registration at Banff on 11 December 1619, before George Mortimer of Auchenbadie, sheriff depute, at the instance of James of Winchester, N.P., Banff as procurator for James Lyill, parson of Rathven and Thomas Hay in Longheid [?] of Rathven and George Douglas, minister at M? of contract signed at Rathven on 8 March 1613, so that it might have the strength of a decreet which was agree to. This contract concerned the patronage of the vicarage of Rathven, which Hay allowed during his lifetime to Lyill [?and to his successors] who agreed to pay 20 merks yearly for this to Hay - other clauses not deciphered. |
