DescriptionG. Imlach to John? Alex Cameron, "with a parcel", Forwarding a "selected bundle of "material for our "Gutter-bluid History" which Cameron is asked to go over in the order as listed and return in their original state "as memorials of my late worthy friend who gave them in trust", and who, apparently would have compiled the history himself but for the onset of blindness before his death.
Mentions the "shameful spoliation ... of the Monument of Provost Douglas from our churchyard and now taken to the back of his [Earl of Fife's] Mausoleum where it does not willingly stick... It was carried off by the earl's Myrmidons subsilentia noctis. I made Lord Fife's people believe the other day that the Provost's Ghost threw the vase into the river" (MS 2264/34 was found enclosed].
