He had found Lord Keith's charter & sent a copy of it & of the lands in Pitfour's charter to Mr Brodie for delivery to Rose. Search complicated because Keith's Charter had not passed to the Privy Seal "for three years posterior to its date." It was passed under a sign manual which was unusual except in cases of charters of Novodamus. The York Building Co. had never made up a title to the Earl Marischal's estate, time too taken up with "Mr Anderson's business" to allow him to serve friends in this way. |
