DescriptionPresentation by John Hay of Echries, tutor of James Hay of Rannes, patron of the patronage and kirk of Rathen, in favour of John Hay, student of divinity in the presbytery of Fordyce, to kirk and benefice of Rathven, now vacant, for life, on the demission of Mr William Scrogie, now Bishop of Argyll, requiring the Bishop of Aberdeen (within whose Diocese the parish lies) to examine the man's qualifications and to admit him to the charge on administration of the oath of allegiance to the Crown etc., duly signed and witnessed at Aberdeen, but no day or month given. Witnesses are: Robert Steuart of Wackardaills and John Rosie, sacrist, King's College, Old Aberdeen.
