| Custodial History | The names Alexander Cockburn, Robert Cockburn and James Cockburn appear in 18th century hands, including 'Alexander Cockburn his book', along with practice signatures and verses. Of these, Robert Cockburn's name is in the most mature hand, and it is possible that the book first belonged to him. The inscription 'Legi et relegi by A. Baillie 1712' appears at the end. The book belonged to Marischal College, Aberdeen. |
