He left Aberdeen on the smack The Swan.
He arrived in Gravesend 72 hours later and visited London until 25 December.
He left London on 25 of December and shipped on board the Duchess of Portland from Gravesend bound for Dominica.
A few passengers came on board in Gravesend with more coming on in Portsmouth
He left Gravesend on 29 of December and a week later arrived at Portsmouth.
He visited Isle of Wight and Portsmouth, seeing the masts of the Royal George above water at Spithead at 15 fathoms deep. He described ships he saw and the fortifications of the harbour
