Administrative History | Francis Carolus Eeles was born in 1876 and educated privately. He took an interest in ecclesiological and liturgical work, in recognition of which he was awarded an honorary LL.D. by St. Andrews University and a D.Litt. by Lambeth, as well as an OBE in 1938. He wrote copiously on his subjects, which included studies of church bells. He died in 1954. |
