Administrative History | Aberdeen Saturday Whist Club was started for the practice of whist in 1894, with Alexander Forbes, merchant in Aberdeen, as the President. He remained in post until his death in 1912. There were to be ten members at all times, and the founding members were almost all doctors in Aberdeen. Meetings were held in rotation at members’ houses, and were to start strictly at eight and end around eleven in the evening. |
