Administrative HistoryThe papers were compiled in 1871 by Charles Brown Davidson (1837 - 1900 ), advocate, Aberdeen, from a case that lasted for a great part of Davidson's legal career. Born in 1837 at Inverurie, Davidson was an Alumnus of Marischal College, 1852-1854. He was a member of the Society of Advocates in Aberdeen and admitted in 1861, at which time he was president of that body. He was also one of the Assessors at the University Court, elected by General Council in 1891. He receievd an LL.D from the University of Aberdeen in 1895.
SourceThe volume was presented to the library by Davidson's daughters in 1941, after the death of their brother Charles James Davidson, (1874-1941); advocate, Aberdeen.
