| Description | Copies of letters written by R. C. Napier to Catherine Napier (his mother) and Anne Napier (his first wife), before their marriage on 3 September 1840. One was written while on route to Calcutta in 1839 on board the steamship 'Prince George' and all express his distress at being parted from her and comment on the people he has met and his time spent in India. The letters have been copied into eight individual booklets. |
