TitleLetters: Francis Grant to Charles Gordon
Date9 November - 13 December 1790
Extent1 item
DescriptionLetter (duplicate) prefixed to next. Francis Grant, Georgia, Jamaica to Charles Gordon of Buthlaw, Cairness near Fraserburgh. Reports arrival of rain to fill ponds; canes are too short, however, to hope for large crop next year. He has had to buy flour to feed negroes until their own produce can be harvested. Discusses other payments received for Gordon in Jamaica. Second letter from Francis Grant, Georgia, Jamaica to Charles Gordon, as above. Apologises for mistakes in accounts referred to in recent letter from Gordon. Flour is still dear and prices are likely to rise further owing to preparations for war. He expects Georgia sugar to give return of 5000 guineas after charges are met.
