DescriptionLetter written by Charles Gordon, Georgia, Jamaica to unnamed correspondent, possibly in Scotland. Acknowledges letter of 11 November with memorial from his aunts respecting affairs of their brothers Charles and James Gordon. The books and papers relating to these are in the possession of Dr. Elphinston who will communicate with the ladies. Also discussed position regarding affairs of James Barclay which cannot be settled meantime owing to a suit in chancery. He advises ladies to agree to an ‘amiable settlement’. Proposes to return in the next convoy and will bring necessary papers with him.
