DescriptionLetter written by James Barclay, Kingston, Jamaica to David Gordon, advocate in Aberdeen. Reproaches uncle for not having written him since he went to Jamaica 2½ years ago. He is very anxious for news from home even though he had left without his mother’s consent. He is now clerk or bookkeeper to a merchant in Kingston at £120 a year and is sending a small sum to his mother through John Keith, London, who forwards this letter.
