DescriptionLetter from James Barclay, Jamaica to Mrs. Ann Gordon in Peterhead. He has been too ill to write to his mother and other relatives recently. Is glad to hear she is well and has so many children and grandchildren near at hand. He is forced to remain in Jamaica during litigation with his former partner, Mr. Crowder, before Court of chancery. Promises to send his ‘Uncle Buthlaw’s’ daughters an account of their brother’s affairs, which, although he had been dead 7 years, were still unsettled.
