DescriptionMS 1160/20/316/1: Letter from W. Parry, [London] to Thomas Gordon, Cairness. In proof of the 'infamous conspiracy' against himself he copies letters by the late Charles Murray [see MS 1160/20/316/2 and MS/1160/20/316/3, June 1824]. Justifies his conduct and copies Byron's last poem, 'Tis time this heart should be immoved' ['unmoved'; written on 22 January 1824, Mesolonghi, 'On this day I complete my thirty sixth year']. [16 October 1824]

MS 1160/20/316/2: Letter [copy; appended in MS 1160/20/316/1] from Charles Murray, Mesolonghi to W. Parry, [Zante]. He has given Parry's letter to Mavrokordatos, who appeared sensible of the latter's situation after Byron's death and expressed the wish to see him accompanying Gordon. [6 June 1824]

MS 1160/20/316/3: Letter [copy; appended in MS 1160/20/316/1] from Charles Murray, Mesolonghi to William Parry, [Zante]. Advises Parry not to take any violent steps in his own justification while he is abroad. [13 June 1824]
