DescriptionLetter (duplicate) from Francis Grant, Jamaica to Charles Gordon of Buthlaw. Original had been sent by 'Antelope' packet; this is prefixed to MS 1160/6/78/2. He acknowledges letter of 10 November in which Gordon had apparently announced his intention of retaining Georgia estate in his own hands. Grant no longer wishes to purchase in any case and forwards accounts for last year. Second letter from Francis Grant to Charles Gordon, sent per 'The Fancy' via Liverpool. He has nothing new to report from recent visit to Georgia but Young is now with him at Montego Bay recovering from voyage and illness before starting on estate at St. James’s called Glasgow belonging to John Gordon of Bristol for whom Grant is acting. French troops have arrived in Hispaniola. Councillor Harrison has died.
