DescriptionLetter (duplicate) prefixed to MS 1160/6/72/2. Francis Grant, Jamaica to Charles Gordon. Thanks Gordon for letter of 25 January. He regrets that his own of 9 November had promised good returns as cane growth had been short owing to drought and gives up-to-date report, discusses legal business respecting Gordon and Barclay estates, shipping consignments through Cummine as well as Fuller and lists amounts shipped. Second letter from Francis Grant, Trelawny to Charles Gordon of Buthlaw at Cairness near Fraserburgh. Further report on crop prospects since 18 April; crop will be better than expected. Lists further amounts to be shipped. Messrs. Fuller report 206 hogsheads had fetched £5762 Stg. but expenses for supplies will be up.
