DescriptionPetition by Mrs. Barclay, spouse of George Barclay, merchant in London, and Elizabeth Duncan, her servant, to Lords of Council and Session. Presented by Alexander Wedderburn and intimated to John Gordon, Advocate. George Barclay is alleged to have been detained while ill in Scotland under brieves of Fatuity and Furiosity raised by relatives, including his brother-in-law, John Gordon of Buthlaw. Barclay had travelled to London with the assistance of his wife and the servant, who petition for the release of their clothes and effects, which had been seized.
