Source	The volume was presented by Dr. William Alexander Macnaughton, physician and antiquarian, in 1938. Macnaughton (fl 1897-1933) was at one stage Medical Officer of Health for Kincardineshire, and was editor of the Caledonian Medical Journal from 1897 to 1932. Though he is not recorded as a graduate of Aberdeen University, he contributed antiquarian articles to the Aberdeen University Review.
