Administrative HistoryJean Grusset dict Richardot (1540-1609), diplomat and President of the Privy Council of the Spanish Netherlands
DescriptionLetter in French discussing English influence in the Netherlands

The swalutation is simply "Messieurs". Richardot has received their letter of 25 October, but on reading it he doubts whether they have received the letter he sent them on 14 September. Gives a summary of that letter. Refers to the talks held at Boulogne and asks that the queen use the power and influence that she has over the protestant provinces (les Provinces distaictes de nostre obsevance) to bring them into line.

As Richardot describes the adressees as having written 'au nom de la Reyne', the letter is presumably to Beale or the Privy Council.

Signed 'Vostre humble et bien affect[io]ne Serviteur / Le pres[iden]t Richardot'
