Administrative HistoryJohn Brebner graduated MA in 1852. He completed a four year course beginning in session 1848-49. His father, James Brebner, was a blacksmith in Fordoun, Aberdeenshire. In 1861 he is listed as a teacher at Aberdeen Grammar School.
SourceDonated by Dr. Michael Hathorn in November 2009 at the request of his late wife Margaret Hathorn (nee Cormack), whose maternal grandmother was a relative of John Brebner.
DescriptionLecture notes taken by John Brebner on Moral Philosophy. The lectures were delivered by Professor William Martin at Marischal College. The date 1837 is stamped on the binding but the volume contains notes of lectures from session 1851-1852.
