| Administrative History | Born in Romford, Essex, in 1934, James Anderson graduated BSc from Aberdeen University in 1956, and PhD in 1959. He took a post as scientific officer at Long Ashton research station, Bristol, 1959 - 1963; was a junior research fellow at the University of Bristol, 1963 - 1966; senior research biochemist for Fisons Pharmaceuticals, Loughborough, 1966 - 1969; and senior scientific officer at a microbiological research establishment, Wiltshire, 1969 - 1971. In that year he changed career and became a teacher of biology and chemistry at Lossiemouth from 1972. |
