| Administrative History | The Sananikone family, silk manufacturers, were from Thailand, and began a connexion with Scotland and Aberdeen University in 1955. After several family members were educated in Scotland and some met and married fellow students, others fled Communist problems in Thailand to take refuge in Scotland. Many lived with and all visited Mr and Mrs. J. Philip (known as Uncle Jack and Auntie Winnie) in Oldmeldrum. |
