| Description | Personal papers of Peter D. Strachan relating to his time as editor of the Buchan Observer. The collection is comprised mainly of typescript notes and articles prepared for Stovies, Annals and Perriwinkle Miscellanies, regular columns in the Buchan Observer , which relate to the area's local history, c 1957 - 1983. Topics covered include Angus Gavin, Longside ecologist; effects of proposed North Sea gas terminal at Crimond airfield on the Loch of Strathbeg; building of Lanabo army base during World War One; the Lick Memorial Monument; Peterhead first Board of Health; The Albert Saga; and many more.
