| Administrative History | Abba Eban was born in Cape Town, South Africa, in 1915. He was educated at Cambridge and taught at Pembroke College, Cambridge from 1938. He moved to Israel after the Second World War and held various government posts: he was a member of the Knesset from 1959 to 1988. His many publications are autobiographical or on the subject of Israel. He was awarded an honorary degree by Aberdeen University in 1994. |
