| Description | Two folded map books:
1. Map of Asia Minor, edited by J.G.C. Anderson and drawn by F. Bosse, published by John Murray 1903 (Murray's Handy Classical Maps). The same edition as the map MS 3286/8/1, but in its original cover with index and evidently much less used. No annotations on map, but pencil notes, cuttings, and slips of paper are enclosed in the folder. These include: notes on place names; a sheet with pencil notes headed "Corrections for Map"; an encyclopedia entry on Galatia; a French article on the mysteries of Eleusis; a letter to Anderson from Ramsay dated 25 May 1914 referring to a drawing of a milestone from Genua on the reverse.
2. "A Map of the Countries between Constantinople and Calcutta" published by Edward Sandford, London 1878. Folded map on canvas in covers; with manuscript additions of lines from Erzerum to Baghdad / Busshireh / Herat, with distances in miles. |
