Administrative HistorySir Ashley MacKintosh, Emeritus Professor of Medicine, University of Aberdeen and Honorary Physician to his Majesty's Household in Scotland was an outstanding clinical teacher of medicine and one of the chief proponents of Aberdeen's 'Joint Hospital Scheme.' Amongst many honours, he was created a Knight Commander of the Royal Victorian Order in 1931.
