Administrative History | Born in Banff, Aberdeenshire in 1874, James Moir graduated MA from Aberdeen University in 1897, and BSc in the same year. He was awarded a DSc in 1902, by which time he was already working for the Mines Department of the Transvaal Government as a chemist. He became President of the Johannesburg Scientific Society, and died in Johannesburg in 1929. |
