Administrative HistoryMar Lodge is a hunting lodge situated to the west of Braemar Castle on the Mar Estate, Aberdeenshire. SourceThe volume came from Adam Watson who was born in Turriff, Aberdeenshire, in 1930. After graduating in zoology from Aberdeen University, he received a Carnegie Scholarship to McGill University, Montreal, to participate in an expedition to Baffin Island. He returned to Aberdeen to complete his Ph.D., which was on the movements and distribution of red grouse in Scotland. His work since has been of an ecological nature, and though he retired in 1990 he is still associated (2001) with the Centre for Ecology and Hydrology in Banchory, Aberdeenshire.
