Morland Simpson (1859-1920), and graduated MA from Aberdeen in 1919 and D.Litt in 1924. Following his first graduation, he lectured in the University of Aberdeen on British history, but in 1926 took up the post of University Librarian and Clerk of the Council, replacing P. J.
