Description | Obligation by way of instrument by Mr John Bisset, Principal and remanent members of the said college whereby they obliged themselves to settle two hundred merks mortified by Mr Bernard Cargill [Carngyll], vicar of Banff [Bamf] and Inverboyndie [Inuerbwndye] to the said eight Chaplains upon land for payment of an annuity of ten merks scotts yearly for which the chaplains were to perform the daily mass therein mentioned. John Cheyne and Urquhart Notaries thereto bearing an instrument upon the back thereof whereby the said Mr Bernard obliges the said chaplains to pray for the souls of Bishop Elphinstone.
