| Administrative History | The revenue of the King's College was generated, for the main part, from their property holdings. The College property falls into three categories: Property acquired under the Foundation Charters; Property acquired by the College subsequent to the Foundation Charters; From Royal Grants. A large part of the original grant consists of teinds, the function of which was to support the parochial clergy. The property and revenue were managed by the Common Procurator (factor) who was selected by the Senatus, and was answerable to the Senatus for the performance of his duties. The income which arose from the funds were referred to as the Procuration Funds. In 1752 the College sold the Superiorities of its lands and in 1765 a similar sale was carried out regarding its Patronages. |
