George Pirie (Mathematics), Charles Niven (Natural Philosophy), Henry Alleyne Nicholson (Natural History), William Minto (English and Logic), and Rev. John Fyfe (Moral Philosophy). The Rector at this time was Alexander Bain and the Chancellor was the Duke of Richmond and Gordon. There were two Principals during this period: W. R. Pirie (d. 1885) was succeeded by W. D. Geddes, who remained in the post until his death in 1900. |
