| Administrative History | The Department of Anatomy was occasionally asked to undertake anthropometric measurements for clinical cases in Aberdeen. This included individuals (often adolescents) who were being assessed or treated for various conditions involving growth anomalies, including acromegaly, pituitary dwarfism, hypogonadism, primary amenorrh[o]ea, hyperactivity and hypofunction of the anterior lobe of the pituitary, ovarian abiotrophy, childhood obesity and thyroid over/under activity.
Between 1945 and 1966, an average of between one and five cases appears to have been referred to the Department, annually. |
