DescriptionWritten on the inside cover: 'This book is for the purpose of recording the histories and facts relating to specimens placed in the Surgery museum. The number at the head of each description is the number on the specimen. All the specimens placed in the museum from this date onwards will not be entered in this book, but most of them will be, and they will be indexed under the headings both of diseases and of organs diseased, as far as this will be possible'. It is dated December 1913.

Even though the book was started in 1913, it includes many specimens that pre - date this time.

Includes 'number of specimen (135). 595. A left foot removed by Syrne's amputation from a soldier. No account of the case accompanied the specimen. The foot was affected by gangrene the result of exposure to wet & cold in the trenches'.

Some of the specimens were 'prepared by Prof Marnoch'.

Includes cutting [on page 134] of a reprint from the 'British Medical Journal', October 22nd, 1921, headed 'A Large Renal Calculus by Arthur A. Morrison, M.A., M.D., C.M. Aberd., Senior Surgeon, Ex - Deaconesses' Hospital, Alexandria, Egypt'.

Includes notes at back of volume relating to a couple of surgical methods: 'Pick's Method for Preserving the natural colours of ?organs' & 'Rowntree's method'.
