Description | Letter: James MacKenzie, 2 Rillbank Crescent, Edinburgh, to James Bruce Duncan; one of three letters wherein he discusses the connection of John Logan (1748-1788) with ballad 'Sir James the Ross' which Mackenzie believes to have been written by Michael Bruce (1746-1767); is sending copy of his own recent book which includes Bruce's poems and refers to other works in which 'Sir James the Ross' and 'Sir James the Rose' are discussed; mentions Scottish connections of London firm of Shoolbread; has large collection of letters of M. Bruce which he intends to deposit in 'the College' for use by future scholars.
