Administrative History | The Bank was instituted on 13 Apr 1816 by the Parishioners of Old Machar Parish, Aberdeen. It's object, as stated in the Rules and Regulations was " to encourage the deposit of small sums which a bank will not receive, and which might otherwise be squandered away, unsafely deposited, or lost altogether " (MS 638). It was wound up in 1855. |
