Administrative History | John Gordon was born in 1715, the second son of Charles Gordon of Buthlaw. He was admitted to the Faculty of Advocates in Edinburgh in 1737, and became joint Professor of Civil Law at Edinburgh for just over a year from 1753 to 1754. He was awarded an LL.D. by King’s College, Aberdeen, in 1754 and practised as an advocate in Edinburgh. He died in 1775. |
