Administrative History | This project was initiated by Professor Elizabeth Russell with the support of the University of Aberdeen and the Medico-Chirurgical Society of Aberdeen. The objective was to record, through oral history interviews, the experiences of current and former University of Aberdeen staff, across multiple medical disciplines. Alongside this, the project aimed to create a body of written histories to capture the formation and development of various medical specialities and departments during the 20th and 21st centuries. |
Description | This collection comprises written histories and oral history recordings which document the experiences of former, and current, members of staff from the University of Aberdeen's School of Medicine, Medical Science and Nutrition. The interview recordings were conducted by former journalist, Eric Crockart.
Please note that the interview summaries may have additions and amendments to the original recording. Summarisers notes are contained within round brackets, and retrospective additions by interviewees are contained within square brackets.
The University of Aberdeen cannot vouch for the factual accuracy of the interviews which are recorded and held as part of the project. The opinions which are expressed within each interview are the responsibility of the interviewee and do not represent the viewpoint of the University.
