| Description | Rental books for the Brucklay estates, covering the lands of Culsh, Brucklay, Whitehill, Artamford, Loanhead, Corsegight, Auchmunziel, Cairnbanno, New Deer, Asleid, Aberdour, Pitsligo, Rosehearty Fishtown and Newtown, and Woodstown.
From 1853 to 1900 the rental books are large landscape volumes each covering four years. From 1903 to 1937 the rental books are slim folio volumes, usually with one or two volumes per year. There are gaps in the series: 1869 - 1872, 1885 - 1888, 1900 - 1902, 1930 - 1933. It appears that for some years, a streamlined, private copy, was also kept by the estate. These have been catalogued as the second in the sequence where two volumes have been retained for each year. |
