| Description | Six A3 folders containing photocopies of those letters which have been transcribed in full in Roger Robinson's 2004 edition of James Beattie's correspondence. The copies are numbered in pencil with the numbering used in the edition, and are in that sequence. Copies of those oiginals held in Aberdeen University Library's Beattie collection are not included. The folders are labelled with the letter numbers and references to the checking process. The number sequence is broken as the non-transcribed letters were not included and University of Aberdeen letters have been removed.
