Administrative History | "In May, 1709,George Paton of Grandholme, one of the heritors of the Cruive fishing on the Dee, with the consent of the other heritors, conveyed to James Panton merchant in Old Aberdeen Master of the Hospital and his successors in office, the Cruive croft or Monymusk Manse, lying in the Chanonry, on condition that an old and decayed Cruive fisher should be presented ny the managers of the Hospital to be a beadsman. It does not appear that a Cruive fisher has been nominated at least tecently and perhaps this deed is the origin of the right of nomination possessed by Mr Paton of Grandholm."
