1838 - 1840: letters written in Edinburgh and on her journey to Canada, mainly to her mother
1840 - 1843: letters from York Factory, Canada, to her mother
1843 - 1852: letters from York Factory, Canada, to her mother
The typed copies may have been made by Josephine Ogston's husband Walter Henry Ogston (1873 - 1957) from the papers held by the Scottish Records Office. The letters are numbered and with some annotations on reverse.
