Description27 items of correspondance or paperwork relating to the publication of Professor Mallard's chapter in Twentieth Century Physics (TCP):

)Postcard from Julie (Denekamp) dated 7 December 1995 thanking him for acknowledging her contribution and a share of the fee.

)Letter from Professor Sir Brian Pippard to Professor Mallard dated 30 July 1997discussing the possibility of a future edition of TCP to be published around 2000 and whether Professor Mallard felt up to revising and updating his chapter. He also wondered whether Professor Mallard would like to collaborate with a biophysicist, Steven Block, Princeton.

)Letter from Professor Mallard to Professor Sir Brian Pippard dated 12 August 1997 suggesting that TCP urgently requires a stand alone chapter on Biophysics rather than fitting it in with Medical Physics and suggesting Steven Block a little specialised to be the chapter's editor. Professor Mallard also queried the possible use of his chapter by a non-profit Physics publishing organisation.

)Letter from Professor Sir Brian Pippard to Professor Mallard dated 3 September 1997 replying to a query about the possibility of having Professor Mallard's chapter published seperately referring him to the publishers and will let him know about any revisions to his chapter.

)Letter from Kathryn Cantley, Commissioning Editor, Institute of Physics Publishing to Professor Mallard dated 23 July 1998 requesting information about his IUPESM award.

)Letter from Professor Mallard to Kathryn Cantley, Commissioning Editor, Institute of Physics Publishing dated 2 August 1998 giving details of his award of the International Union of Physical and Engineering Sciences in Medicine (IUPESM) Award of Merit in 1988.(Originally called the Senior Scientist Award). Interestingly this copy is photocopied on the back of a copy of a letter written to The Director of Planning at Aberdeen City Council dated 26 June 1998 protesting about the plan to build a supermarket at the corner of Anderson Drive and Queen's Road.

)Letter from Kathryn Cantley, Commissioning Editor, Institute of Physics Publishing to Professor Mallard dated 4 August 1998 thanking Professor Mallard for sending details of his honours and awards. Extract of his previous letter is to be used as part of the advertising brochure.

)Letter from Dr W. Alan Jennings to Professor Mallard dated 2 December 1995 thanking him for his copy of the chapter ' Medical Physics' and stating how useful it and Professor Mallard's paper on the 'Birth of the Organisations' will be.
