The letters and telegrams are addressed to Ferguson, with the exception of 5 letters of correspondence between J.C. Paterson, Robert Barbour, and Archibald Ritchie.The correspondents include his son, daughter-in-law, and daughter as well as members of the aristocracy, politicians, clerics, bank managers, and individuals requesting assistance, financial or otherwise.
