Description | The report reviews the pipeline pull-in at MCP-01, that is, when the pipelines were connected to the the base of the platform underwater. As certain aspects of the operation were novel, the report is detailed and comprehensive. The report focuses mainly on the bottom-tow procedure, used on three of the four pipelines, which was the method proposed and executed by R J Brown and Associates. The report comprises the following sections: Introduction and Conclusions; Planning and Scheduling; Construction Equipment & Main Activities, which includes a review the role of the various support vessels and barges, and the preparation and dry runs; Pipeline Installation; and Details of Bottom Tow Operation, including analysis of difficulties encountered. |
